SAP will discontinue maintenance for “Process Integration (PI)” or “Process Orchestration (PO)” in 2027. Therefore, it is necessary to migrate to a successor solution such as the SAP Integration Suite. The Suite offers a constantly growing pool of Predefined Content and can be described as the successor to SAP PI/PO. The suite combines various tools, including the SAP Cloud Integration middleware.
SAP Cloud Integration (what is it?)
SAP Cloud Integration connects cloud and on-premise applications with other SAP and non-SAP cloud and on-premise applications. The service processes messages in real time. This includes different companies, organizations or departments within organizations.
The necessary steps of a migration
- Save time, gain safety & increase plant availability
- Group and classify configurations according to key criteria
- Map standard adapters of “SAP Process Orchestration (PO)” or “Process Integration (PI)” to Cloud Integration
- Re-implement user-defined adapters or find alternatives
- Re-implement user-defined adapter modules or find alternatives
There is also the option of extending SAP support until 2030, known as “extended maintenance”. However, this incurs additional costs and would only postpone the necessary migration.
