As part of a customer order, clavis successfully created an SAP StRM prototype and thus created a sound basis for decision-making for the future warehouse strategy. The aim was to check whether the customer requirements in the course of the S/4HANA migration can be efficiently covered with SAP StRM – as a license-free alternative to SAP EWM.
A realistic model of future warehouse operations was created through a structured analysis of the existing warehouse organization and the practical mapping of central warehouse processes such as goods receipt, stock transfer, picking and inventory. The definition of relevant master and transaction data enabled a transparent representation of the system and process logic.
The prototype developed made the strengths and optimization potential of the existing processes visible, helped to sharpen technical requirements and provided valuable insights for the further system decision. Thanks to the clear and comprehensible system presentation, both technical and organizational aspects of warehouse management were successfully evaluated.
This was an important milestone in preparing for a targeted and cost-effective implementation of the right storage solution. 🚀
